Sparkle & Shine

Sweater - H&M, Blouse - F21, Shorts - Thrift, Shoes - Urban Outfitters, Bag - Thrift

Keeping it casual. I love layering and I could wear these leather shorts every day! I love wearing blouses under a more casual sweater, it gives it a little more prepster look.

Dreaming In Color

Dress - H&M, Shoes - Forever 21

I can't believe that I used to avoid the color red like the plague. I used to think it was too bold and just wasn't for me. For shame! Now I want to have millions of red tops and dresses. A red top and a light pant or skirt looks so amazing, or vice versa with a red pant/skirt and a light top. So many things you can go with bright colors if you keep the rest of your outfit neutral!

Pleated Fancy

Blouse - H&M, Pleated Skirt - F21, Belt - Vintage, Shoes - Thrift, Bag - Nine West

This is one of my most favourite outfits to wear! I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it too, it's just such a feminine look and I love wearing it to work as well. I feel like an old time secretary or something. I would so prefer to dress like this everyday and be feminine and chic if I could! I'm definitely going to be on the hunt to fill my closet with more such pieces that I can use to dress up a less exciting outfit.

So Romantical

Dress - Pink Rose, Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell 'Woodies', Belt - Forever 21

There are sometimes that I see an item and am just blown away by how romantic and feminine the item is, and even though it's probably not a practical purchase I just HAVE to have it! This dress was one of those items. Sometimes you just want to dress up like a girl in a florals, ruffles, and frilly tutu skirts. Sometimes you just have to have a romantical day and dress the part of a princess!

The Labyrinth

Dress - Forever 21, Shoes - H&M, Leggings - H&M

I got my tattoo this Monday! Wow did that thing hurt. I knew it was going to be painful as feet don't have much else than skin and bones so there's no meat to cushion the needle, but I think it was definitely worth it. My tattoo took an hour to finish and it was a verrrrry long hour! The image I got is called an Osseous Labyrinth, and it's a part of your ear. I just love anatomical and botanical art so I wanted to get something that I really connected with aesthetically. This is something I've thought about getting for over 2 years and I would say to anyone who is thinking about getting a tattoo to definitely make sure you know what you want before you get it. Know where you want it on your body too because placement can make all the difference.

I actually bought a special paper from a craft store that would print a fake tattoo, and I put the image I was thinking about onto the fake tattoo just so I could see how it would actually look on my body before I got it done permanently. If you know the exact image you want to get I would suggest possibly doing the same thing, just so you can be 100% sure that you have what you want.

For my outfit to my appointment I wanted to dress cute but still be comfortable so I wore this awesome print shift dress which buttons up. I love loud prints lately! They really catch your eye and if the print is done right it can look very chic. This last picture of the tree was taken in Seattle right up the street from the tattoo parlor. I love how Seattle has such beautiful trees and isn't a pure concrete jungle. Gorgeous.

It's Closing Time

Blouse - Vintage, Dress - H&M, Hat - H&M, Boots - Thrift

It's so sad when a local family-run business closes down. I went to visit my childhood favorite ice cream store recently and was super depressed to find it closed for good! The place was called Theno's Dairy and they made their own ice cream from their farm. I used to go there after indoor soccer games because we passed right by this place on the way back, and they gave the biggest scoops and had the most interesting flavors. I've always been a slow eater and there was a 'No eating in the Car' rule and I could never finish my cone fast enough so my team mates would have to help me out!

It's such a bummer when unique, awesome places like this go out of business. I'd rather see a lot more of these kind of places around than poor quality chain restaurants. Seeing this happen definitely makes me want to visit more small, family-run places to help keep them around!

Seattle Adventure

Cardigan - Lush, Pants - Jolt black jeans, Shoes - Nine West

My boyfriend and I had a fun little time in Seattle this weekend! I had to go up there to go to a tattoo appointment (I'll have pics soon, I'm getting it done on the 23rd, eek!) and we decided to make an evening of it. We went to a cute little organic store called Ken's Market and I got a yellow nectarine and I found some hazelnut wafers that I didn't know were sold in the US! They're called 'Manner' wafers and they are from Vienna and they are THE BEST wafers in the world!

We also went to a cute little burger place called Uneeda Burger and they make some delicious burgers! They were a little pink but still good. They had a medi-terra burger that was $12.50! That's a little steep for one burger if you ask me.

The best thing about Seattle (and cities in general) is all the cool art and architecture. I loved the fish mural and the wall that I'm standing against almost perfectly matched my cardigan!

I'll be updating again soon with pictures and details about my tattoo!

Hats Galore

Hat - Forever 21, Top - Lush, Vest - Thrift, Shorts - H&M, Shoes - Qupid

I am a lady who is a lover of hats! I looooove hats! They can really make an outfit, and they are also really helpful on a semi bad hair day or if you went that extra day without washing your hair and just want to hide it to take a quick trip to the grocery store. It actually surprisingly took me a lot longer than I thought it would to buy a big fat floppy hat like this one! I love the 60's look it gives me with with nice beige/brown color. Love it.

Also, color jeans/shorts are a great way to put a statement onto a look. I love wearing all neutrals or monochromatic colors and then having one thing that pops out, like a bright red or blue. It makes you really look at that one item of clothing and it's also a way to make sure you're not overdoing it on colors and patterns. I know that the whole mix and match and clashing patterns is in style right now, but I personally am not super into that look. It's just a big hodge-podge of things that don't go together and it's just rare that it actually works and is done well. I think we'll all look back on the things we wore and definitely have some things that are worth cringing over!
